The European Geosciences Union (EGU) has announced the call for applications for its 2025 Distinguished Lecture Series, an outreach initiative that brings leading scientists to speak at secondary schools and higher education institutions across Europe.

The program is designed to promote Earth, planetary, and space sciences, particularly among students aged 12–20. Selected institutions will host lectures by prominent researchers, covering topics such as climate change, geology, hydrology, and planetary exploration.

The EGU provides financial support of up to €1,400 per institution to cover speaker travel and logistics. The deadline for applications is June 10, 2025. This initiative supports both academic engagement and public science literacy, helping bridge the gap between research and education.
