The UAE Ministry of Education has announced significant updates to the educational streams for Cycle 3 students (Grades 9–12) in public and private schools following the national curriculum, effective from the 2025–2026 academic year.
The revisions aim to align educational pathways with students' future aspirations and the evolving demands of the labor market. The general stream will now include foundational scientific subjects to enhance students' skills and talents, while the advanced stream will focus on more complex scientific topics to prepare students for higher education and specialized careers.
These changes result from comprehensive field surveys involving educators and parents, reflecting a collaborative approach to educational reform. The updated streams are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a dynamic global economy.
