UAE Introduces AI Curriculum for Students as Young as Four

The United Arab Emirates is pioneering an educational reform by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the public school curriculum for students starting at age four. This initiative, commencing in the 2025–2026 academic year, aims to prepare students for a future dominated by digital technologies.
The curriculum will encompass up to 20 hours of AI instruction per academic year, covering topics such as ethical AI use, prompt engineering, and critical evaluation of AI-generated content. The decision to introduce AI education at such an early age stems from the UAE's commitment to becoming a regional AI hub and its recognition of the transformative impact of technology on society.
Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri emphasized that the move is also a response to past challenges in adapting to digital trends, particularly the influence of social media on youth. By equipping students with AI literacy from a young age, the UAE aims to foster critical thinking and innovation among its future workforce
