The 2025 Annual Conference of EDEN Digital Learning Europe took place from June 15 to 17 under the theme “Shaping the Future of Education in the Age of AI.” Hosted in a hybrid format, the event brought together educators, technologists, researchers, and policymakers to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital education.
Key topics included the ethical use of AI in assessment, the role of generative AI in personalized learning, and the need to redesign curricula to include AI literacy. A major takeaway from the conference was the importance of building educator capacity to understand and implement AI tools responsibly.
The EDEN conference also highlighted concerns about equity, data protection, and the risks of over-dependence on algorithm-driven instruction. Panelists emphasized that while AI offers transformative opportunities, it must be used to empower—not replace—human-centered learning.
